Don Handelman is Sarah Allen Shaine Professor Emeritus of Anthropology and Sociology, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His research interests focus on cosmology, religion, ritual and what he calls ‘bureaucratic logic’. His research locales are in Israel and South India. Among his books are Nationalism and the Israeli State: Bureaucratic Logic in Public Events (Berg, 2004), and One God, Two Goddesses, Three Studies of South Indian Cosmology (Brill, 2014).
