Kathleen Bruhn is Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research interests include democratization, political parties and social mobilization. Her most recent book, Urban Protest in Mexico and Brazil (Cambridge University Press, 2008), discusses the causes of protest and in particular, the implications of Left party victories for protest.
