Eliot Borenstein is a Professor of Russian and Slavic Studies and Collegiate Professor at New York University. His most recent book, Overkill: Sex and Violence in Contemporary Russian Popular Culture (2008), won the award for best book in women’s studies or gender studies from the Association of Women in Slavic Studies. He is also the editor of the blog All the Russias hosted by the Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia.
