Irene Viparelli is an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora, Department of Economics, Escola de Ciências Sociais (Portugal), an Integrated Member of the Research Center CICP (Centre of Political Science.) and a PhD Collaborator of the Research Center PRAXIS (University of Beira Interior). She conducts research on Political Theory and has edited two recent books: Viparelli I., Ruoppo A. P. Aporie dell’integrazione europea : tra universalismo umanitario e sovranismo. (2021 FedOA Press) and Viparelli I., Rocha e Cunha S., A crise Europeia: entre o niilismo do presente e a invenção do futuro (2019 Humus).

Evanthia Balla is an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora (Portugal). She directs the MA in International Relations and European Studies. She collaborates as a researcher with the Research Center in Political Science (CICP). She conducts research on European policy and security. Her recent publications include ‘The Evolution of the EU’s Security Model Through the Lenses of the Balkans’ in International Relations and Diplomacy (2021). She has recently edited a book on human rights (Rocha e Cunha S., Balla E., Vasquez, R. Justiça e Direitos Humanos numa Era de transição. 2019 Húmus).
