Mattias Frihammar has a Ph.D in ethnology from Stockholm University. His research includes difficult legacies, cultural aspects of death, and military heritages. He is currently engaged in the project ‘Making a Military Heritage. Gender and Nation in Sweden’s Cold War History’. The project has a transdisciplinary approach, featuring researchers from ethnology, political science, gender studies, art and architectural history who collectively explore how Sweden’s Cold War history is given societal meaning.
