Mikhail Pogrebinskiy is a political analyst and director of the Kiev Center of Political Research and Conflict Studies. His professional interests include analysis of the current political situation, formation of civil society institutions, Russian-Ukrainian relations, and election campaigns. At different times he was a deputy, member of Kiev city executive committee, and assistant to the deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He also worked at the presidential administration. Since 1989, he has been taking part in election campaigns as a manager and adviser. A member of the Council of Experts on Internal Policy under the President, adviser to the Prime Minister (1998-2000), adviser to the Head of Presidential Administration (2002). Since 1993, he has been director of Kiev Center of Political Research and Conflict Study. In 2014, he issued a collection of his articles and publications titled Political Adviser. Thoughts about Ukrainian Politics (Folio). He is the co-author and editor of a number of books, including The Orange Revolution (Optima, 2004), Ukraine without Kuchma (Optima, 2007), Russian Language in Ukraine (HMPS, 2010), and The Crises of Multiculturalism and Problems of National Politics (Весь мир, 2013), among others.
