Rory Cox is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of St Andrews (UK) and has published extensively on military ethics, military conduct, torture, and terrorism. He is an Associate Fellow of the Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence and the Vice-Chair of the International Ethics section of the International Studies Association. His is the author of Origins of the Just War: Military Ethics and Culture in the Ancient Near East (Princeton University Press, 2023).
