Dr. Alexander Loengarov is a senior affiliated fellow in international law at the Faculty of Law and Criminology at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium) and a former official of the European Economic and Social Committee of the European Union. He managed the first rounds of the EU’s academic grant scheme with Israeli and Palestinian partners. In his dissertation, he exposed the interplay between law and politics in Palestinian statehood recognition, and has frequently commented on Israeli-Palestinian matters for The Hill, The Washington Institute, and The National Interest. His writings reflect solely his own views.
