Biyon Sony Joseph is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Palai, Kerala, India. He was a Network for Advanced Study of China (NASC) Fellow (2024-2025) at the Takshashila Institution, Bengaluru, India where he studied the influence of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in the area of political economy. His primary research interests include India’s engagements in the Indo-Pacific, maritime security and paradiplomacy.
