Fernando David Márquez Duarte is a decolonial and Marxist thinker from Mexicali, México. He has a PhD in Political Science from the University of California Riverside (UCR). He is a scholar with a permanent physical disability. He holds a master’s degree in Regional Development from COLEF and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from UABC (both in México). He has conducted projects advising and supporting Indigenous groups in Baja California, México. His PhD thesis was conducted with the Cucapáh Indigenous group in Baja California, focused on their political thought and struggles for self-determination. He has published on Indigenous rights, Indigenous self-determination, Marxist Decolonial Praxis, etc. He is a co-founder of the Decolonial Praxis Collective.
