Masahiro Matsumura is Professor of International Politics at St. Andrew’s University in Osaka. He specializes in East Asian Security, US-Japan alliance, and defense industrial policy. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park, and has held various fellowships, including at Harvard, Brookings, Heritage, Cato, US NDU-INSS, and NCCU-IIR. He has published five co-edited books through World Scientific Publishing and his articles have appeared in journals such as Survival, Austral, Defense Analysis, Issues & Studies, International Journal of Korea Unification Studies, International Journal of China Studies, and Journal of East Asian Affairs.
