Uddhab Pyakurel is Dean of the School of Arts; and Professor of political sociology at Kathmandu University, Hatiban, Lalitpur, Nepal. He is author of, Maoist Movement in Nepal: A Sociological Perspective (2007); Reproduction of Inequality and Social Exclusion (2021); co-author of, Nepal-India Open Borders: Problems and Prospects (2015); and co-editor of, Challenging Authoritarian Capitalism: The Transformative Power of the World Social Forum (2024). His research bridges sociology, anthropology, and political science as centered upon the themes of urban youth politics; social, ethnic, and religious diversity; Nepali domestic and foreign policy relating to green politics, the state, inner-party politics, pandemic, and migration; labor, migration, mobility, and gender; and other issues.

Dr. Patricia Sohn, Ph.D., is Visiting Faculty, Kathmandu University—Nepal Centre for Contemporary Studies (KU-NCCS), Hatiban, Lalitpur, Nepal. She is co-editor of Beyond the Death of God: Religion in 21^st Century International Politics (University of Michigan Press 2022); and author of Judicial Power and National Politics: Courts and Gender in the Religious-Secular Conflict in Israel (SUNY Press, Second Edition, 2017).
